Do you have to be really fit to be good at Kung Fu? |
No, fitness develops as you prgress through your training. It is important to remember that everyone is different and will develop at different rates. A good standard of Kung Fu can be achieved by everyone if they apply themselves to the training. |

How does the grading work? |
Sifu Alan Neeld usually arranges four gradings per year. The venue for gradings is the Longbridge Club. Prices start at £45 for the first four grades. All students are assessed prior to grading and will not be put forward for their grading if they have not met the required standard to pass. Prior to taking a black sash grade all students have to attend two brown sash courses, an anatomy course and a first aid course. The first aid and anatomy courses are run on an annual basis by the Association and students of any grade can attend. Students are encouraged to attend early on in their training so the information gained at the courses can be used. |

How long does it take to get to black sash? |
There is a minium of four years to black sash but many students take much longer. I started my own training in 1974 and didn't take my first black sash grade until 1981. |
